A Brief History

The wirksworthbusiness.co.uk website was created in 2003 by Alan Cecil, a Wirksworth resident who over the next 6 or so years grew the website and gradually gained a constant 15 to 20 thousand hits a month.

In early 2009 it was bought by James Rice, also a local to Wirksworth, who saw the potential it had. He started a project called 'indexify' which aims to provide comprehensive directories for towns in the Midlands.

Once taken over, James totally re-designed the website making it cleaner, easier to read and navigate. His mission now is to attract even more visitors to the website who will discover Wirksworth as not only a picturesque town in the "heart of England", but discover the excellent business Wirksworth has to offer, too.
