Recently taken over by Kevin Dowson, whose aims are exactly the same as the previous owner.

Our bars provide a welcome environment for you to sit and relax with your friends or to enjoy a game of pool or dominoes, or watch your team win on our big screens.

You can enjoy our home cooked meals or snacks every lunchtime and evening prepared freshly on the premises every day and then wash it down with a good selection of draught beers and cask ales.

Our food...

We pride ourselves on our homemade food, freshly prepared to order using local ingredients. A good range of sandwiches and light snacks are available for a light bite. Or choose one of meals including fresh Steaks from our local butcher in Wirksworth and cooked to your liking on our chargrill. Our famous homemade burgers are to die for, and a good selection of curries are available if you fancy some spice. You even get a free drink with your curry on a Tuesday & Thursday.

Our functions...

Catering for special events is our speciality. Our function room seats up to 80 people for a formal dining arrangement and will host more on a less formal occasion. We have an extensive range of menus to choose from, and will try to meet any dietary needs you may have when possible.

We will happily host live music for you, or supply a disco with DJ if you prefer. We have hosted many live music gigs and we regularly host many other types of entertainment. Our licence ensures we can handle most occasions until the early hours of the morning. All your guests will be served from the private bar situated in the room and we will ensure where possible the room is available as early as possible to allow you to decorate with balloons and banners. We will of course do it for you if you prefer.

Above all you can rely on us to ensure your party, meeting or other event goes without a hitch. We will do every thing we can to take the stress away, and allow you to relax and enjoy yourself.

Sport...

We watch sports, we do it on our Big Screen too! If you fancy watching the match with your mates or even mates you've not met yet, this is the place to be. We have a loyal group of football supporters who will always welcome new fans to the fold.

All the major League & "Barclays Premiership" matches are shown in the main bar on all the TV's & the Big Screen so you should never miss a goal. Sky Sports News is also shown on our flat screen monitors above the bar, just to keep you informed of what the other teams may be doing.

We don't just show football though, come and watch the international rugby, the golf or the cricket. There's always something to keep the sports fan interested, and if not, there's always the great beer or the great food
